Ararunart Kuripe Necklace
This stunningly crafted Kuripe was made by our favorite female artisan. She used bamboo decorated with pyrography and leather for the finishing, taking great care and attention to detail.
In the Tupi language, ‘Arara’ means macaw and ‘Una’ means black – hence ‘Araruna’, meaning a black macaw. This is also the indigenous given name of the maker of this Kuripe, from the northeastern state Maranhão. Her studio is called Ararunart.
This piece of art comes in Black, Brown, or White – you will receive one of these colors.
However, due to it being handmade, there may be slight varieties from batch to batch.
