Huni Kuin Rapé Cumaru is a sacred and grounding snuff prepared by the Huni Kuin people of Acre, Brazil. This ancestral medicine blends Nicotiana rustica with the aromatic ashes of the Cumaru tree (Dipteryx odorata), known in English as Tonka Bean. Deeply rooted in forest traditions, this Rapé supports emotional centering, energetic cleansing, and spiritual clarity.
This ceremonial snuff is made with prayer, intention, and deep botanical knowledge. The Cumaru tree, widely respected for its medicinal and aromatic properties, offers a warm, slightly sweet scent and is often used in healing rituals. When its wood is burned and transformed into fine ash, it becomes a powerful grounding component in Rapé preparation.
The tobacco used—mapacho, or wild tobacco—is potent and cleansing. Combined with Cumaru, it creates a medicine that aligns body, mind, and spirit. This Rapé is often used by tribal healers during sacred ceremonies and by those seeking balance, grounding, and protection in their personal practice.
The Huni Kuin, or “True People,” are Indigenous stewards of the western Brazilian Amazon. Their healing traditions rely on a rich lineage of plant knowledge and spiritual practices. Every batch of Huni Kuin Rapé Cumaru is handcrafted following sacred protocols passed down for generations.
By choosing this Rapé, you are not only receiving a powerful forest medicine—you are also supporting the continuation of traditional knowledge and helping empower Indigenous communities to protect their land and culture.
Rapé is traditionally applied through the nose using a Kuripe (for self-application) or a Tepi (for applying to another person). Before serving, take a moment to center yourself and set a clear intention. Allow the medicine to move through you, helping clear mental chatter and restoring equilibrium.
After use, it’s common to rest in silence, allowing the plants to work their way through your energetic and emotional layers. This practice can be enhanced by meditation, breathwork, or prayer.
At Haux Haux Shop, we work in close partnership with Indigenous communities to ensure ethical sourcing, fair trade, and authenticity in every product. Our Rapé collection includes rare blends directly from tribal artisans, each crafted with care and spiritual intention.
Choosing our Huni Kuin Cumaru Rapé means supporting forest guardians while accessing a medicine that is as pure as the intention behind it.
