Guide 02 · Choosing an applicator
Kuripe or Tepi? Start with how it will be used.
The right applicator is less about decoration and more about who will use it, how it fits and how it will be cared for. Kuripe and Tepi serve different situations.
Kuripe: for personal use
A Kuripe is a compact V-shaped applicator designed for self-application. For most people building a personal practice, it is the clearest place to begin.
Tepi: for use with another person
A Tepi is a longer applicator used by one person for another. It calls for trust, consent, experience and careful communication; it is not simply a larger Kuripe.
Fit and care matter
Look for a comfortable angle, smooth openings and a form that is easy to clean and keep dry. Treat an applicator as a personal item and avoid sharing it.
